چکیده
Abstract Curtailing the absorption of triglycerides (TGs) is a preferred pathway for treating obesity. Our previous study demonstrated that water-soluble fraction from potato could inhibit lipase activity patatin, one major proteins in potato. This aqueous was purified and concentrated by deproteination reversed-phase chromatography to investigate effectiveness against Biochemical analyses indicated non-competitively inhibited pancreatic (PLase) with half-maximal inhibitory concentration 10.17 µg/mL, named as potato-derived (PI). Animal studies on C57BL/6 mice showed fed high-fat diet (HFD), PI treatment resulted reductions body weight gain, adipose fat deposition, liver TGs, ameliorated gut microbiome dysbiosis caused HFD feeding; meanwhile, orlistat, well-known inhibitor, diverged profile HFD. High resolution electronspray ionization-Orbitrap tandem mass spectrometry identified gallic acid, 4-hydroxybenzoic protocatechuic which are known have activities, PI. However, these compounds not reconstitute comparable specific inferring existence another compound(s) be

Garcinia cambogia extract ameliorates visceral adiposity in C57BL/6J mice fed on a high-fat diet.
The aim of present study is to evaluate the effects of Garcinia cambogia on the mRNA levels of the various genes involved in adipogenesis, as well as on body weight gain, visceral fat accumulation, and other biochemical markers of obesity in obesity-prone C57BL/6J mice. Consumption of the Garcinia cambogia extract effectively lowered the body weight gain, visceral fat accumulation, blood and he...
متن کاملWhey Protein Reduces Early Life Weight Gain in Mice Fed a High-Fat Diet
An increasing number of studies indicate that dairy products, including whey protein, alleviate several disorders of the metabolic syndrome. Here, we investigated the effects of whey protein isolate (whey) in mice fed a high-fat diet hypothesising that the metabolic effects of whey would be associated with changes in the gut microbiota composition. Five-week-old male C57BL/6 mice were fed a hig...
متن کاملAntagonism of T-type calcium channels inhibits high-fat diet-induced weight gain in mice.
The epidemics of obesity and metabolic disorders have well-recognized health and economic burdens. Pharmacologic treatments for these diseases remain unsatisfactory with respect to both efficacy and side-effect profiles. Here, we have identified a potential central role for T-type calcium channels in regulating body weight maintenance and sleep. Previously, it was shown that mice lacking CaV3.1...
متن کاملAnti-oxidant and anti-hyperlipidemic activity of Hemidesmus indicus in rats fed with high-fat diet
Objective: Dietary changes playmajor risk roles in oxidative stress andcardiovascular disease and modulate normal metabolic function. The present study was designed to investigate the ameliorative potential of different extracts of Hemidesmus indicus to experimental high-fat diet in wistar rats, and their possible mechanism of action. Materials and Methods: Male wistar rats were divided into 6...
متن کاملOat beta-glucan ameliorates insulin resistance in mice fed on high-fat and high-fructose diet
METHODS This study sought to evaluate the impact of oat beta-glucan on insulin resistance in mice fed on high-fat and high-fructose diet with fructose (10%, w/v) added in drinking water for 10 weeks. RESULTS The results showed that supplementation with oat beta-glucan could significantly reduce the insulin resistance both in low-dose (200 mg/kg(-1) body weight) and high-dose (500 mg/kg(-1) bo...
